Write for us

Southern Insight Hub welcomes pitches and contributions about Southern places, histories, language, customs and change. Send proposals through the Contact page, with enough detail for an editorial review.

What to propose

Pitch a specific, evergreen subject with a clear question and a reader in mind. Strong proposals explain what the piece will cover, why the subject deserves attention and what material or sources can support its account.

A useful approach

We value precise scope, careful context and writing that distinguishes evidence from interpretation. Avoid sweeping claims about the South, recycled list ideas and pieces that depend on unverified anecdotes or professional advice.

How to send it

Use the Contact page to send a short proposal, a working title and a brief outline. Include relevant experience only if it helps explain your approach; do not send confidential material or assume a proposal is accepted until discussed.
